Artist Nisla

Nisla's art is truly unique in that she uses her considerable artistic skills to convey a state of mind that catches you by surprise and pulls you into her paintings.

Born in Panama, Nisla studied life drawing in Southern California under Professor Manual DeLeon, then moved to Oahu's north shore where she trained under Roy Tabora and raised three children. Her travels took her to New England and now to Lahaina, Maui.

"I still paint using my classic techniques but I enjoy switching it up and putting a more contemporary slant on things. Whether it's the human figure or seascapes, I try to bring my personal eye and my spirit into everything I produce. My greatest hope is that it touches something in someone else in a way that connects us as human beings. Proof that we are not alone." - Nisla
